Strengthening cooperation between Youth Centers and local public authorities

During October 18-19, 2023, representatives of the youth sector participated in an event on strengthening cooperation between Youth Centers and local public authorities, organized by the National Youth Agency together with Millennium Training and Development Institute with the support of partners UNFPA Moldova and European Union in the Republic of Moldova.

For two days, the participants were engaged in various group workshops, organized according to the Open Space Technology method, which gave them the opportunity to propose and debate topics of common interest, even taking on the role of host during the sessions held . Topics such as:

🔹 Opportunities and options to support youth programs and initiatives at the local level;

🔹 The advantages and benefits offered through the Youth Capital Program;

🔹 The current situation in the youth sector at the local level;

🔹 The opportunities and ways to access the Programs of the National Agency for Youth;

🔹 Opportunities to access European youth programs (Erasmus+; European Solidarity Corps, etc.);

🔹 Prospects and further commitments regarding the vocational training of youth workers;

🔹 The draft regulation regarding the operation of the Youth Center;

🔹 The collaboration of the Youth Centers with The National Network of Local Youth Councils from Moldova

🔹 The statistical report on the activity of the Youth Centers was presented and discussed.

The aim of the workshop was to increase the degree of professionalization of civil servants responsible for the youth field within the District/Municipal Councils and youth workers within the Youth Centers. On the first day of the event, the Secretary of State Sergiu Gurin also participated, who came with a word of greeting and emphasized the importance of cooperation between Youth Centers and local public authorities.
